The most common repair. Torsion springs (on the bar above the door) are replaced in pairs because both have the same cycle count. Single car doors with one spring run $180 to $280; double doors with two springs $260 to $450. High cycle springs add $40 to $100 and last two to three times longer. Read more on the spring repair page.
Stripped drive gears, capacitors and sensors are $120 to $220. Logic boards $150 to $350. A new belt drive opener installed is $450 to $800, or $600 to $950 with battery backup and smartphone control. Openers over 10 years old are usually better replaced than repaired. Details on the opener repair page.
Lift cables are replaced in pairs for $140 to $260. A full set of sealed nylon rollers is $150 to $300 and is the best value noise fix on a garage door. Together, $250 to $450.
Resetting a door in the track with new rollers and hinges is $150 to $350. A bent track section adds $120 to $300. A single replacement panel, when a match is available, is $250 to $700. Beyond that, a new door is usually the better buy.
Single steel non insulated $900 to $1,600. Double insulated steel (R-12 to R-18) $1,800 to $3,200. Carriage style and wood look $2,800 to $4,500. Windows and decorative hardware add $200 to $900. The installers we refer measure and quote for free. See the installation page.
Northern Colorado has one heavily advertised garage door franchise whose own customer reviews repeatedly mention the price. Three habits protect you: get the full price before work starts, ask whether both springs are included in a spring quote, and be suspicious of a spring call that turns into a sales pitch for a whole new door when the panels are sound. The pros we refer do not work on commission and do not carry brochures.
Typical job pricing reported by the Northern Colorado garage door companies we work with, cross checked against national cost data from HomeAdvisor and manufacturer list pricing from Clopay and Amarr. Updated November 2026.
